"Matches" Feature Finally Detailed
Many Battlefield users have noticed the Matches feature under the Multiplayer tab in Battlelog. It's been rendered useless for quite some time now, but the details for this feature have finally arisen.

Competitive players can rejoice, DICE is advancing to the next step to further improve the competitive atmosphere. The 'Matches' feature will allow you to create competitive multiplayer sessions with your friends and squad members. You can set everything from the time, server, game settings, and roster so you can have full control over each competitive match.

This feature will be available on all gaming platforms through Battlelog as long as you are currently the owner of a rented server. Once you have rented a server, you can set specific items like match name, start time, game mode, team size and map rotations.

More extensive options will also be made available to be customized for total control, with settings such as friendly fire, 3D spotting, squad-leader spawning, kill cam, health regeneration, and a list of weapon unlocks are just some of the many options that server owners can take advantage of.

After the rules are set to your desired liking, you will then be prompted to select the roster that will be participating in your selected competitive match. You can select from your full list of friends and platoon members, while your opponent will do the exact same. When both rosters are set and the match is ready to begin, players from both competing teams will be able to join the server and engage in a warm-up phase. Kills and points earned during this phase does not count toward the match. If your teams are ready before the warm-up phase is finished, you can ready up via the start menu.

Once the match is completed, you can view the results of the match through Battlelog. Anybody will then be able to see any information that was relative to the match that was played. With the Matches feature, DICE hopes the competitive community takes advantage to all of the features given to them.

A release date for this specific feature is still to be determined.
